49ers CEO Jed York Arrested in Ohio
John “Jed” York, CEO and principal owner of the San Francisco 49ers, was arrested in East Palestine, Ohio, over the weekend. On Monday, York entered a no contest plea to misdemeanor charges, including disorderly conduct and possession of criminal tools.
The arrest took place on Sunday near the Pennsylvania border. Initially, York faced charges related to prostitution, as reported by The Associated Press, but these were later modified by prosecutors to disorderly conduct.
York, an alumnus of Cardinal Mooney High School, posted a $5,000 bond following the arrest. While specifics of the incident remain scarce, documentation from Nexstar’s WKBN highlights police cooperation with the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force during York’s arrest.
Court proceedings indicate York received a concurrent two-day jail sentence in Columbiana County, along with credit for one day served, and fines totaling $1,150. Additionally, authorities confiscated $160, which will be handed over to the task force based on the agreement.
York has taken steps to have the incident expunged from official records, as per court documents. A native of Ohio, York ascended to the position of team president in 2008. The San Francisco 49ers had yet to issue a comment on York’s arrest by Monday morning.
The NFL stated, “We are aware of the matter, which will be reviewed under the personal conduct policy.”
Nexstar’s WKBN sought comments from both the team and York’s legal representative.
