Campbell’s Expands Soup Lineup with New Gluten-Free and Flavorful Options
Campbell’s iconic red-and-white soup cans are undergoing a transformation with the addition of several new varieties to the brand’s portfolio. Among the latest offerings is the Campbell’s Condensed Gluten Free Banza Chickpea Pasta and Chicken Soup.
Introduction of Gluten-Free Options
The shift toward gluten-free diets has become increasingly prevalent in the United States. Recognizing this trend, Campbell’s collaborated with Banza to introduce a gluten-free version of its famous condensed chicken noodle soup. This new product combines the comforting taste of Campbell’s Chicken Noodle Soup with Banza’s gluten-free chickpea penne pasta.
Approximately 30% of the American population actively seeks out gluten-free products. The U.S. gluten-free market is expected to grow at an annual rate of 9.8% between 2026 and 2033. Gluten is a protein found in grains like wheat and is common in many foods such as bread and pasta. Individuals with celiac disease, which affects 1% of the population, experience adverse reactions when consuming gluten. Many more have non-celiac gluten or wheat sensitivity, although the exact figures are unknown.
“For over 125 years, Campbell’s Chicken Noodle Soup has been a staple in homes across America,” stated Benjamin Crook, senior vice president of soup at The Campbell’s Company. “Partnering with Banza lets us bring that timeless taste to those seeking gluten-free options.”
This new gluten-free chicken noodle soup is currently available on Amazon and will soon be widely distributed in retail stores.
Flavorful Collaborations
Campbell’s Chunky line, known for its heartier soups, has introduced a new product in collaboration with Buffalo Wild Wings. The result is Campbell’s Chunky Buffalo Wild Wings Parmesan Garlic Chicken Noodle Soup. Buffalo Wild Wings, the largest sports bar brand in the U.S., collaborates through its Buffalo Wild Wings GO, focusing on takeout and delivery services. This partnership aligns with the Chunky brand’s strategy to attract new consumers with bold flavors.
Protein continues to be a sought-after nutrient, with 70% of Americans prioritizing its consumption. The Buffalo Wild Wings soup offers 17 grams of protein per 18.8-ounce can, and it has launched in stores this month.
More Offerings with Unique Flavors
Last fall, Campbell’s unveiled two new additions to the Chunky lineup, coinciding with the onset of the soup season. These include Campbell’s Chunky x Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer Cheese with Potatoes & Chorizo Soup and Campbell’s Chunky x Pabst Blue Ribbon Beef, Bacon & Beer Chili with Beans. The Beer Cheese soup features chorizo and potatoes in a creamy cheese blend infused with the flavor of Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer. The Beef Chili adds seasoned beef, beans, smoky bacon, and Pabst Blue Ribbon flavor.
Both exclusive to Walmart, these soups aim to offer distinct tastes and align with Campbell’s goal of providing flavorful options.
Campbell’s CEO Mick Beekhuizen highlighted the trend of increased home cooking since early 2020, noting that many consumers turn to Campbell’s products for value, quality, and convenience.
