Chicago police reported that a passenger on the CTA Red Line was injured Sunday morning in Roseland after a bullet struck the train window. The incident occurred near 95th St. at approximately 8:49 a.m.
The victim, a 46-year-old man, was traveling on the train when individuals in three vehicles on the Dan Ryan Expressway began firing guns. A bullet broke the window, causing glass shards to hit the man’s face and body.
He was transported to Trinity Hospital and is in good condition. The vehicles involved in the shooting left the area immediately afterward.
Area 2 detectives are conducting an investigation into the case. Police have yet to release further details about the suspects or motivations behind the shooting.
