Chaos on American Airlines Flight: Passenger Accused of Biting and Fighting

An American Airlines flight descending into chaos after a passenger was accused of biting another traveler and attempting to fight others onboard.

The incident occurred on Flight 3046 as it approached Philadelphia International Airport, having departed from Charlotte, North Carolina. An audio recording reviewed by Fox News Digital revealed the pilot informing air traffic control of the escalating situation with the disruptive passenger. The pilot reported, “He just bit a passenger, and he’s trying to fight everybody,” according to the recording posted on LiveATC.

“We need EMTs and law enforcement,” the pilot alerted.

The flight was met by medical personnel and police, following reports of the passenger biting another traveler and trying to engage in fights onboard.

The crew had requested the presence of police and emergency medical teams upon landing. The pilot speculated whether a mental health crisis could be the cause, suggesting law enforcement’s involvement might be necessary as a precaution alongside EMTs.

American Airlines confirmed on the following Monday to Fox News Digital that the passenger experienced a medical emergency. A medical professional onboard assisted before the plane landed safely. Additional medical staff attended to the passenger upon arrival.

An airline statement read, “Medical personnel met American Airlines flight 3046 at the gate for a customer experiencing a medical emergency. We appreciate the actions of our team members and the medical professional onboard who assisted the customer as the flight arrived safely at Philadelphia (PHL).”

The brief exchange between the pilot and air traffic controller concluded on a lighter note, with the controller wishing the pilot a happy Father’s Day. “What a day, huh?” the pilot remarked. “I’ll be sure to tell my daughters about this one.”
