President Trump Hopes for Resolution in Nancy Guthrie’s Disappearance Case

President Donald Trump expressed optimism Tuesday that investigators will locate Nancy Guthrie, the missing mother of ‘Today’ co-host Savannah Guthrie. Her disappearance has attracted national attention for almost five months. During his interaction with reporters at Reading Regional Airport in Pennsylvania, Trump was questioned about the possibility of the FBI and other investigators finding Nancy Guthrie.

Trump’s brief remarks occurred as the search for the 84-year-old woman from Arizona reaches its 20th week. Savannah Guthrie has made emotional appeals to the public to provide information. Law enforcement continues to look for Guthrie, who vanished on February 1. Savannah Guthrie has announced a $1 million reward for information leading to her mother’s whereabouts.

On the ‘Today’ show Tuesday, Savannah Guthrie asked anyone with knowledge about the situation to contact investigators.

The renewed call for information follows reports of a second ransom note sent to the family, claiming Nancy Guthrie had died soon after being taken from her home in the Catalina Foothills, north of Tucson.

A federal law enforcement source familiar with the investigation informed Fox News that the note suggested Guthrie was “buried with nature.” The note reportedly did not ask for payment and included remorseful language, which experts note is unusual in authentic ransom demands.

Authorities have not verified the notes’ authenticity, and investigators have yet to identify the sender.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos shared with Fox News Digital that investigators and the FBI have evaluated multiple ransom communications throughout the case. Some communications were deemed fraudulent, while others are potentially credible.

Nancy Guthrie was reported missing after her disappearance from her Tucson-area home in early February. The investigation continues with the involvement of the FBI, Pima County Sheriff’s Office, and other law enforcement agencies. Savannah Guthrie has consistently pledged that her family will seek answers.
