China’s First Robot-Run Hotel: A Glimpse into the Future of Hospitality

Pudu Robotics plans to open a ‘full-scenario robot-serviced hotel,’ integrating robots throughout the guest experience, including reception, room service, cleaning, food preparation, and guest support. The hotel is expected to launch in 2027, with trial rooms and robot services beginning in late 2026. Early guests can experience robot check-in and autonomous in-room delivery before the full launch.

Location for the Robot-Run Hotel

The hotel will be situated on West Artificial Island, part of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link in Guangdong Province. This location ties into Shenzhen’s reputation as a major technology hub, where robot room-service delivery is already common in many large Chinese cities.

Robots in Action at the Hotel

Pudu aims to create a connected robot service system managing the whole guest experience.

The hotel will feature 44 high-end rooms, a restaurant, a gym, and varied guest spaces. Robots will fulfill roles across the property—reception, room service, cleaning, and guest support—using a common software system.

Pudu’s hotel will utilize PuduFM 1.0 and PuduAgent for managing intelligent operations, representing a significant step toward large-scale deployment of embodied intelligence in hospitality.

The project explores new AI service models delivering connected experiences. Although ambitious, this rollout will be gradual, with the first public trial anticipated in late 2026 and a broader opening in 2027.
