On July 9, 2026, three individuals were charged following accusations related to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in Washington, D.C. Court documents reveal that these individuals are accused of either removing or attempting to remove pieces of blue sealant from the pool.
According to reports, the defendants have entered pleas of not guilty to the misdemeanor charge of destruction of public property valued at less than $1,000.
The incident caught attention as National Park Service personnel had previously been seen vacuuming algae from the pool.
