Rattlesnakes in Texas: A Challenge for ‘Dutton Ranch’

Filming in Texas presents unique challenges, according to Cole Hauser, star of ‘Dutton Ranch.’ He highlighted the startling presence of rattlesnakes during his recent discussion on ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show.’ Actor Kelly Reilly also joined him during the appearance.

Hauser revealed that the crew encountered approximately 3,400 rattlesnakes over eight months, which impacted filming in Fort Worth, Texas. An area with a significant rattlesnake population once forced the team to halt production.

Kelly Reilly questioned Hauser about a specific rattlesnake den near one filming location. Director Christina spotted 40 to 50 rattlesnakes, causing a planned evening shoot to be canceled.

Filming Conditions in Montana and Texas for ‘The Madison’

Michelle Pfeiffer, starring in ‘The Madison,’ shared her experiences with tough filming conditions in Montana and Texas on the LA Times podcast, ‘In Conversation: The Madison.’

Pfeiffer described how the open terrain lacked basic facilities. Filming outside meant no access to bathrooms or air conditioning, with only breathtaking scenery as a consolation.

The production crew built a cabin quickly, resulting in limited comfort for actors. Shooting 360-degree scenes meant trailers couldn’t be nearby, offering nowhere for actors to rest.

Throughout the winter, the cold weather was challenging, prompting requests for heaters. During summer, actors sought shade from the intense sun. Accommodations improved midway through filming, addressing some of these concerns.
