Social Media Influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate Arrested in Miami for Extradition to the UK

Social media influencers Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate were apprehended in Miami by the U.S. Marshals Service on Saturday. The arrests were made following the announcement by British prosecutors of new criminal charges against them, along with a request for their extradition to the UK.

The Tate brothers have gained significant attention online through their content, which promotes misogynistic views about women. The agency spokesperson, Brady McCarron, confirmed the arrests to The Associated Press.

These developments occurred after the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in the UK disclosed additional charges against the brothers, involving allegations from four more victims. The CPS is seeking their extradition from the United States.

A statement released by the CPS outlined the charges against Andrew Tate, who is 39 years old. He now faces seven extra counts of rape, three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, three counts of assault resulting in actual bodily harm, and 19 charges linked to indecent images of a child and extreme pornography.

Tristan Tate, aged 38, also faces legal action with one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape, and three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation. These alleged offenses occurred between July 2010 and August 2017, increasing the total number of alleged victims to seven.

Both Andrew and Tristan Tate have previously denied any wrongdoing. Their lawyer, Joseph McBride, reiterated their innocence in a statement to the BBC, saying, “the world knows Andrew and Tristan are innocent”.
