Gunman Injures Two Teens in Auburn Park Shooting

Two teenage boys suffered injuries following a shooting incident on the city’s South Side, reported by Chicago police. The attack occurred in an apartment near the Auburn Park lagoon.

The unidentified shooter fired several shots from a hallway into the occupied apartment located in the 400 block of West Winneconna Parkway. The incident took place just after 4 p.m.

An 18-year-old was critically injured, having been shot in the neck, clavicle, and back. He was transported to UChicago Medicine. A 13-year-old, injured in both calves, was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital and is in good condition.

As of now, police have not released additional information. Calumet Area detectives are actively investigating the case.
