Senator Jim Banks Criticizes Neville Roy Singham for Alleged Support of Chinese Interests

Senator Jim Banks from Indiana addressed the Senate on Wednesday, criticizing Neville Roy Singham for his alleged support of China’s political agenda against the United States. Singham, a tech entrepreneur, sold his company for $785 million in 2017 and now resides in Shanghai. Investigations reveal he has contributed $278 million to various nonprofits since 2017.

These nonprofits have organized and participated in demonstrations against ICE, Israel, and in support of Iran. Banks highlighted that Singham operates from Shanghai, sharing an office with a Chinese Communist Party propaganda outlet. According to Banks, Singham’s network supports CCP interests.

“From his Shanghai office… Singham began funding a complex network of left-wing NGOs and nonprofits that advance the interests of the Chinese Communist Party,” Banks stated.

Code Pink, an organization co-founded by Singham’s spouse, Jodie Evans, confronts legislators on Capitol Hill and claims “China is Not Our Enemy.” Banks noted that Code Pink previously criticized CCP’s human rights abuses but changed its stance after receiving significant funding from Singham. Evans and Singham declined to comment on inquiries from Fox News Digital.

Footage from Fox News Digital showed Code Pink challenging Senator Rick Scott of Florida regarding the ongoing conflict in Iran. Scott questioned whether they acknowledged the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. The group did not respond.

Senator Marco Rubio addressed a Washington, D.C., summit with representatives from over 60 countries, emphasizing the urgency of countering left-wing extremism. Rubio alerted to networks engaging globally, advocating for cooperation to halt financing from foreign adversaries.

“For far too long, however, our counterterrorism doctrine has had a blind spot – a blind spot when it comes to extremist violence from the political left,” Rubio remarked.

Currently, Singham is the subject of a grand jury investigation in New York’s Southern District, initiated by acting Attorney General Todd Blanche. This investigation scrutinizes Singham’s financial dealings linked to his pro-CCP nonprofit network. He has not faced charges yet.

Earlier in the year, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent met with Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon, encouraging cooperation with the Justice Department’s investigation concerning Singham’s financial network. A Goldman Sachs spokesperson affirmed compliance, clarifying that no donations from Singham’s fund have occurred since August 2023 and the account closed in early 2024.
