City public information officer Josh Palmer stated it remains unclear if the suspect’s death is counted among the fatalities. Officials are in the process of notifying the victims’ families, and no details about the identities of those affected have been released yet. Some injured individuals remain in critical condition.

Authorities are investigating the shooter’s identity and possible motives. Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks assured the public that the threat to the community has ceased, describing the scene as chaotic. Witness interviews are ongoing as part of the investigation.

The restaurant is located in a busy shopping area, attracting numerous people when the incident took place at approximately 2 p.m. An eyewitness, Lane Koehn, described seeing an individual with an AR-style rifle emerging from the drive-thru. A bystander armed with a pistol intervened by firing at the shooter. Koehn also witnessed an In-N-Out employee assisting a uniformed, wounded victim.

“She was pretty bad off, but I don’t know. I hope she made it,” Koehn commented.

Haley Dodaro, a Twin Falls resident, recounted her experience while waiting in the drive-thru. Initial confusion about a possible fire turned to fear upon learning of the active shooting incident. People fled the restaurant in distress.

Nayeli Rodriguez, present inside the restaurant with her daughters, described the frightening experience of hearing gunfire. An employee warned patrons to take cover, and Rodriguez recounted how a fellow diner protected her family before they exited the premises.

“We were trying to get as far as we could and some angels let us in their car,” Rodriguez shared.

The newly opened In-N-Out, launched on July 24 during the company’s Idaho expansion, became a focus of this tragic incident.

Multiple injured individuals were transported to St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center. The hospital is collaborating with law enforcement and emergency responders to handle the situation.
