Children’s YouTube star Ms. Rachel, known for engaging children’s content, recently led sing-alongs at an ICE facility in New Jersey. This activity sparked discussions among ‘Fox & Friends’ hosts regarding far-left protests at such locations, including Delaney Hall in Newark, where numerous arrests occurred.
Ms. Rachel, or Rachel Griffin Accurso, has over 5 million followers. She utilized her influence to support progressive Democratic candidates. She endorsed candidates like former Rep. Cori Bush of Missouri and Michigan Senate hopeful Abdul El-Sayed. Accurso expressed on Instagram her belief that all children deserve medical care and protection from violence.
Accurso’s endorsements covered political races in eight states. Her selections included figures like Vermont Rep. Becca Balint, Minnesota Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan, former Maine Senate President Troy Jackson, Florida state Rep. Angie Nixon, and former Tennessee state Rep. Justin Pearson.
“These are the folks I believe care about all kids,” Accurso stated. Cori Bush, vying to reclaim her Missouri congressional seat, is backed by the Democratic Socialists of America. Bush aims to abolish ICE, secure Medicare for all, and achieve economic justice.
Abdul El-Sayed, endorsed by notable figures like Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, distanced himself from the socialist label but supports policies such as ‘Medicare-for-all’ and financial system reforms.
A financial filing showed Accurso’s $3,000 contribution to El-Sayed’s campaign before the Michigan primary against Rep. Haley Stevens. The nature of the payment as either a donation or loan wasn’t specified.
Accurso criticized the influence of big money in politics, advocating against personal attacks among politicians and the financial muscle of external groups in primaries.
The National Republican Senatorial Committee voiced concerns over Accurso’s support for El-Sayed, citing their shared agendas. Amid these political activities, Accurso also addressed the handling of Nolan Wells’ death by law enforcement, suggesting racial biases.
Accurso’s platform, including her large YouTube following, serves as a channel for political advocacy. She participated in a visit to an immigration facility in Newark and lobbied Congress against family separation policies.
Accurso stated her involvement stems from deep care for children and families, pledging her support in an Instagram post affirming her endorsement for El-Sayed.
Attempts to reach Accurso, Bush, the DSA, and El-Sayed for comments were initially unresponded to, reflecting the ongoing interest in her political engagement.
