A TikTok live video involving celebrity blogger Perez Hilton led to multiple calls to Miami police, prompting a focus on monitoring the situation. The video reportedly showed Hilton engaging in self-harm at his Miami home.
The Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office received several calls about the livestream. Deputies were sent to Hilton’s home, where they found family members present. They confirmed Hilton was alone but chose to ‘tactically disengage’, opting to monitor the situation.
The Sheriff’s Office explained their approach in such crises. When dealing with scenarios involving mental health issues or self-harm, deputies prioritize creating time and space to allow for de-escalation. The aim is to reduce risks, avoiding confrontational outcomes.
Attempts to contact Hilton’s representatives were made but no response was available at the time of reporting. Newsweek has decided not to share the disturbing video.
The video depicted Hilton cutting himself, covered in blood. Since then, TikTok has removed the video and suspended Hilton’s account. Details about who was home during the incident are unclear. Hilton has three children; his son born in 2013, and two daughters in 2015 and 2017.
Earlier this year, Hilton faced health challenges. He was hospitalized for severe sepsis following complications from flu medication. He also suffered from deep vein thrombosis, requiring medical intervention for a blood clot.
In a recent social media message, Hilton discussed a personal spiritual journey. He shared plans to read the Bible for the first time and expressed gratitude to God for his recovery experiences.
‘[God] did something I can only describe as a miracle. I had been calling out to God for years, opening my heart. Now I no longer need faith or hope to believe. I know that God is real and loves me,’ Hilton expressed in a post.
