Democratic Attorney Julian Epstein Opposes Senate Nominee Abdul El-Sayed

Julian Epstein, a well-known Democratic attorney, has publicly opposed Michigan’s new Democratic Senate nominee, Abdul El-Sayed. Epstein, who previously served as chief legal counsel for House Democrats during the Clinton impeachment and represented Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, expressed his support for El-Sayed’s Republican opponent, Mike Rogers, in an op-ed for The New York Post.

In a conversation with Fox News Digital, Epstein declared his intention to support the Republican candidate in the Senate race. He commented on the current state of the Democratic Party, suggesting it had moved too far left and strayed from its moral center.

Epstein voiced concerns about El-Sayed’s positions and the direction of the Democratic Party. He criticized the alignment with radical ideologies and the focus on wealth redistribution instead of building for future generations. These comments included concerns about antisemitism and alliances with radical Islam.

He highlighted the disconnect between the party’s current stance and the median voter, predicting defections by many Democrats due to the extreme positions. Epstein praised Mike Rogers for his moderate and practical approach, stating he could have been a Democrat during the Clinton years.

Following Abdul El-Sayed’s narrow primary victory against Michigan Rep. Haley Stevens, high-profile Democrats are rallying behind El-Sayed. However, there is uncertainty around whether Stevens’ supporters will back El-Sayed in the upcoming election.

In his op-ed, Epstein accused El-Sayed of following Bernie Sanders’ views on wealth redistribution and criticized his sympathies towards Middle Eastern terrorist groups. Epstein highlighted El-Sayed’s controversial stance on the existence of Israel and his affiliations with figures like Hasan Piker, who has taken controversial positions on issues like 9/11 and praised dictatorial leaders.

Epstein’s op-ed suggests that Democrats will face challenges in distancing themselves from these “lunacies” in the election. His criticism and support for a Republican candidate mark a significant deviation from his long-standing Democrat ties.
