Linda McMahon Criticizes Democrats Over Women’s Sports Concerns

Education Secretary Linda McMahon has voiced criticism towards Democrats for dismissing concerns related to women’s sports. This follows the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold transgender sports bans. McMahon emphasized protecting women’s sports, noting the impact on female athletes regarding fairness, lost opportunities, and safety in locker rooms.

She reaffirmed the Trump administration’s dedication to defending women’s rights under Title IX. The Protect College Sports Act remains pending in Congress. If it passes both houses, it will reach President Donald Trump’s desk. Trump strongly supports this legislation.

TRUMP URGES CONGRESS TO PASS ACT BEFORE RECESS

In a statement on Truth Social, President Trump advocated for the act, urging the Senate to remain in Washington until it passes. He warned that without this bill, many young athletes would suffer. Programs could be canceled, and women’s and Olympic sports might disappear, impacting fans and universities financially.

“Nobody has done more to protect women athletes than me,” Trump stated. “This bill clearly safeguards the laws in 27 states defending women’s sports and banning men from women’s sports. Anyone telling you otherwise is lying. Stop grandstanding and focus on getting this done.”

President Trump reiterated his support in a post on Truth Social after meeting US Olympians at the White House. He called for bipartisan collaboration in Congress to pass the bill. Trump stated, “We have no choice. Without it, we are foolishly in ‘Never-Never Land.’ We must not let that happen to these great athletes.”

The White House released a memo clarifying that the Protect College Sports Act would not override state laws preventing biological men from competing in women’s sports. It stressed that states retain the authority to legislate on this issue.
