Scott Eastwood Shares Anecdote About Father Clint Eastwood’s Set Conduct

Scott Eastwood recently opened up about a memorable incident on a movie set involving his father, Clint Eastwood, and actor Kevin Costner. During an interview on the “Armchair Expert” podcast, the younger Eastwood, now 40, reflected on the deep respect his father commands on set, emphasizing that Clint never raises his voice.

Scott recounted a well-known story about Clint’s interaction with Kevin Costner during the filming of “A Perfect World.” According to Scott, Costner was reluctant to leave his trailer at one point. He shared, “Kevin Costner was perhaps in the midst of his rise to fame and developed a bit of an ego. He was doing ‘A Perfect World’ and for some reason didn’t want to come out of his trailer.”

Scott noted that Clint, who directed and acted in the film, responded simply by instructing, “Well send him home then,” despite Costner being scheduled for the scene. “They approached Kevin and told him, ‘You’re going home for the day.’ His reaction was understandable, asking, ‘What do you mean? I’m needed in the scene.’ However, they informed him that Clint had made the change,” Scott explained.

The following day, Costner reportedly returned to the set ready to work. Attempts to reach Costner’s representatives for comments were made by Fox News Digital.

Scott also reflected on how his upbringing, with Clint as his father, influenced his professional demeanor. He shared insights into questionable behaviors he observed in the industry, especially during his childhood visits to film sets with his father. “I was fortunate to see both good and bad behaviors growing up,” Scott noted on “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast. He credits his father’s efforts to shield him and his siblings from the adverse effects of early fame.

Speaking about child stardom, Scott emphasized the potential challenges young stars face, often resulting in a “stunted” development. He praised his father for offering them a sheltered upbringing, stating, “We lived in Carmel, not LA. My father insisted on a normal childhood, understanding the importance of normalcy in learning how the world functions.”
