Incidents of Fatal Shootings by ICE Agents Under Scrutiny
In March 2025, a 23-year-old individual was shot and killed by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent. Since that incident, there have been four additional fatal shootings by immigration agents involving individuals inside their vehicles.
Those who lost their lives include Johan Sebastián Durán Guerrero, Ruben Martinez, Renee Good, Silverio Villegas González, and Lorenzo Salgado Araujo. These individuals were fatally shot while in their cars by immigration agents.
According to reports, an incident involving Johan Sebastián Durán Guerrero occurred on July 13 in Maine, where a video shows ICE agents removing him from his car after a fatal shooting. This case, along with others, has drawn public attention and raised questions about the use of force by immigration agents.
These events have prompted discussions about the standards and protocols followed by immigration agents in situations involving potential threats. Authorities continue to review these cases to determine whether the actions taken were justified or if changes in policy are necessary.
