AEW Rivalries Intensify as Andrade El Idolo Suffers Ambush

During All Elite Wrestling’s (AEW) Grand Slam event in Mexico, Andrade El Idolo was ambushed after securing his place in the Casino Gauntlet match for All In. MJF made a dramatic return to AEW on Wednesday night and attacked Andrade, who had just become the No. 1 entrant for the match.

MJF left Andrade injured and announced his intention to enter a qualifying match as the second entrant. The victor of the Casino Gauntlet match will receive an opportunity for the AEW World Championship.

On Sunday, Andrade shared images of his injuries on social media, revealing a severe cut on his head. He mentioned he might be sidelined for a few weeks. ‘Hi everyone and especially Las Señoritas! I’ve just returned to Miami and headed straight to the doctor,’ he explained. Although feeling unwell since the ambush, he continued professional commitments in Canada before seeking medical attention.

Andrade assured his followers that, while he might be unavailable for a few days or weeks, his injury was not serious. He also mentioned needing six stitches after the incident.

The rivalry between Andrade and MJF has been heating up, with MJF previously having ties to the Don Callis Family. Andrade distanced himself from this faction as MJF reclaimed the AEW World Championship from Darby Allin at the Double or Nothing event.

Recently, MJF lost the championship to Kenny Omega but returned with his Triple B title, which he announced as the true championship. He is determined to qualify for All In and secure another opportunity at the title.
