Will Scharf Appointed as Next White House Counsel

On Sunday, President Trump announced that White House staff secretary Will Scharf will assume the role of White House counsel. Scharf is set to replace the current counsel, David Warrington, on September 1 as Warrington moves to the private sector.

Known for managing the president’s flow of information, Scharf is tasked with presenting executive orders to the president and explaining their details. He also chairs the National Capital Planning Commission, overseeing developments such as the president’s triumphal arch.

“Will is Tough, Strong, and Smart! He also loves our Country, and respects the Law,” commented the president about Scharf’s new appointment. “Will Scharf will do a great job as White House Counsel!”

At 40 years old, Scharf holds a degree from Princeton University and a law degree from Harvard University. Between 2020 and 2022, he served as an assistant U.S. attorney in Missouri, focusing on prosecuting violent crimes.

The White House counsel acts as the chief legal advisor to the president, providing guidance to both the president and their team. Scharf’s appointment coincides with the upcoming midterm elections, where Democrats might regain control of one or both chambers of Congress. Such a shift previously led to numerous subpoenas and investigations for President Trump and his administration, culminating in his first impeachment.

The announcement came a day after Todd Blanche, the president’s former personal defense attorney, was confirmed by the Senate as the U.S. attorney general.
