Taylor Fresh Foods Recalls Products Due to Salmonella Concerns

Taylor Fresh Foods, the parent company of Taylor Farms, has initiated a voluntary recall of certain products containing jalapeños. This decision follows concerns about possible salmonella contamination.

This action comes shortly after the company recalled iceberg lettuce from central Mexico, linked to a multistate cyclospora outbreak affecting individuals across the U.S.

The recall involves products such as guacamole, pico de gallo, and taco dip. These items were distributed by Taylor Farms in several states and carry a “Best If Used By” date up to August 16, 2026. Notable retailers including Kroger, Stop & Shop, Target, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, and Walmart sold these products.

Taylor Fresh Foods acted after Coast Citrus Distributors, its jalapeño supplier, voluntarily recalled fresh jalapeños due to the salmonella risk. The FDA and CDC, alongside state and local partners, are investigating a multistate salmonella outbreak linked to jalapeños from Coast Citrus Distributors.

The investigation determined that a grower in Sinaloa, Mexico, affiliated with Coast Citrus Distributors, might be the outbreak’s source. In response, Taylor Fresh Foods has ceased sourcing from this grower and shifted to alternative suppliers.

Currently, Taylor Fresh Foods reports no illnesses associated with its jalapeño-containing products.

Consumers should discard any recalled products immediately and avoid consumption. Refunds are available at the original purchase locations.
