He received backing from the state’s congressional delegation, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, and influential unions.

Bronin’s Campaign for Change

Luke Bronin, aged 47, launched a compelling campaign focusing on generational change. He argued that President Donald Trump’s term necessitated new energy and perspectives among Democratic lawmakers. Bronin successfully outfundraised Larson and captured the support of party activists, ultimately securing the state party’s endorsement during the convention.

Larson is the 10th House member to lose a primary this year, with the count including seven Democrats and three Republicans.

“In this moment, when Donald Trump is president, the job of a member of Congress isn’t just in the subcommittee rooms, it’s what you are doing outside the walls of the Capitol to build a movement,” Bronin told NBC News in May.

Bronin emphasized the importance of using the congressional platform effectively to win back support for the Democratic party. Larson, on the other hand, argued for the need to continue opposing Donald Trump. On NBC News’ “Meet the Press Now,” he highlighted his endorsements and accomplishments.
