Actor Kellan Lutz recently discussed his family’s decision to relocate from California to Tennessee. Speaking on the ‘Inside of You’ podcast with Michael Rosenbaum, Lutz shared insights into their move which began three years ago due to the pandemic.
Although Lutz expresses his fondness for California, he explains that the move coincided with having their second child. His wife, Brittany, who was raised in Orange County, hopes to either return or maintain a bi-coastal lifestyle. Post-pandemic, many people, including Brittany’s family, opted to leave California in search of more tranquility.
Lutz said, “We got some land, great Bible studies, great churches, great community.”
The decision to follow Brittany’s family to Tennessee was influenced by the need for a support system while Lutz is away for work. Lutz noted, “Other men with kids in my life…said new moms want to move where their mom lives to help with the kids.” This played a crucial role in their decision, especially after one of their children fell ill.
Lutz has observed several positive aspects of living in Tennessee, particularly in Franklin. He remarked, “There’s a lot of great things about Tennessee.” However, he also admitted to some adjustments, such as experiencing tornado warnings and missing certain culinary delights, like quality sushi and Mexican food.
Lutz added that he has attended more movie premieres in Franklin than he did in Los Angeles in recent years, highlighting the vibrant community in their new location.
