Gracie Hunt Discusses Faith, Fitness, and Her Future on The Riley Gaines Show

Gracie Hunt, heiress to the Kansas City Chiefs, recently shared insights into her life and future plans on The Riley Gaines Show. She touched on topics like faith, fitness, and the influence of sports on her identity.

Surprise Engagement and Marriage Counseling

During the podcast, Gracie spoke about her unexpected engagement to Derek and their decision to pursue marriage counseling before getting engaged. She explained that faith plays a crucial role in shaping their future together.

Fitness Philosophy

Gracie opened up about her fitness journey, which has evolved significantly over the past three years. She now focuses on heavy strength training rather than long-distance running. This approach has not only kept her energized but also helped debunk the myth that weightlifting necessarily leads to a bulky physique.

She emphasized, “There’s so much misconception out there that if you lift weights, you’re going to be bulky and big. That is not how it works.” Instead, she finds that building muscle enables a varied diet without rigid calorie counting.

Nutrition Simplicity

Instead of tracking calories, Gracie uses a simple guideline to determine her diet. She asks herself, “If I was a farmer, could I grow this or make this?” This principle helps her maintain a clean-eating lifestyle.

Impact of Sports on Identity

Growing up in a sports family, Gracie’s athletic aspirations initially included competitive soccer until multiple concussions altered her path. She transitioned to pageantry, marathons, and strength training.

She noted, “Sports empower women. They teach you how to be healthy and also to not attach health and wellness to how you look and to vanity. It’s more about, ‘Am I healthy? How can I perform?'”

Advice for Fitness Enthusiasts

For those interested in a strength-focused fitness routine, Gracie recommends incorporating consistent weightlifting, high-intensity interval training (HIIT), and a preferred form of cardio into workouts. She stresses the importance of viewing fitness as a lifelong commitment to well-being rather than a short-term goal.

She concluded, “Fitness isn’t about reaching a certain aesthetic and calling it a day — it’s about pursuing a life where you can be your best for everyone else around you. Find something that you love and can do for life.”
