Donald Trump and Michael Cohen’s Unexpected Reunion
President Donald Trump and Michael Cohen have reunited in an unexpected twist to their long-standing saga with a recent radio interview. The conversation lasted 40 minutes and will be aired in two parts. This marks their first public dialogue in almost a decade.
Cohen, who was once a key witness against Trump in New York cases, detailed this reunion on Substack. He noted that his inbox has been inundated with hate mail since it was announced Trump would appear on his radio show. He pointed out the irony of those who preach divine love but send vitriolic messages.
“Colossians 3:13 says: ‘Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you,’” Cohen wrote, emphasizing that forgiveness forms the basis of their reconciliation.
Earlier this year, Cohen claimed he felt coerced by New York authorities to testify against Trump. He shared that he’s often asked how two long-term adversaries could reunite. His response: “We forgave.”
Cohen reiterated that forgiveness is not about forgetting the past but requires courage to stop letting it control the future.
Cohen, who previously admitted to lying to Congress and violating campaign finance laws, spent three years imprisoned, ending with home confinement. He frequently appeared on liberal news programs during his public fallout with Trump. He criticized society’s attachment to constant outrage, stressing that identities shouldn’t be based on hatred.
Cohen recalled their 15-year relationship, which included achievements and failures culminating in Trump’s presidency. He described their bitter separation and subsequent reconciliation as a step towards accountability, urging others to listen before judging.
The first part of their interview will air on Thursday at 6 p.m. ET on 77WABC. The second part will follow on Cohen’s show on Sunday night at 5 p.m. ET. The White House has yet to comment on this matter.
