Major Drug Bust Unveils Cocaine Sales Near DC School

U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro has revealed a significant drug bust in Washington, D.C. This operation uncovered cocaine sales taking place near a school, with visual evidence even showing a transaction occurring near a young child.

A Texas man, previously convicted of murder, has been accused of operating a comprehensive drug business near various schools. Surveillance captured what seemed to be teenagers purchasing narcotics and fentanyl pills designed to look like ecstasy.

The Galveston County Organized Crime Task Force carried out a raid on a residence located at the 1200 block of Appomattox Drive in Texas City on August 18. This action followed a two-month investigation. The SWAT team from the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office led the tactical entry.

Jahml McDonald, aged 50 from Texas City, was arrested as part of the investigation. He now faces two felony charges related to controlled substances, as reported by the sheriff’s office.

“Authorities confiscated about one kilogram of brightly colored fentanyl pills, which were seemingly made to look like ecstasy, during the raid.”

Along with fentanyl pills, detectives seized THC wax, marijuana, THC vapes, promethazine, and numerous liquor bottles. The appearance of the pills mirrored that of recreational drugs.

McDonald faces legal troubles following the discovery of this operation. He was seen by task force surveillance selling to teenagers from the residence. This location is close to Giles Middle School, the College of the Mainland, and two elementary schools.

Galveston Police Chief Doug Balli described the operation as a “convenience store for poison.”

District Attorney Kenneth Cusick emphasized McDonald’s criminal history. Previously serving 25 years for murder, McDonald was already on bond for a marijuana-related case. Cusick intends to pursue the maximum allowable penalty.

“This individual’s actions, which involved supplying drugs near a college and local schools, are considered utterly unacceptable,” Cusick stated.

Residents near the operated house reported noticing increased traffic and activity. Neighbor Donald Moore expressed concern, noting frequent traffic and worries about potential violence.

A judge has maintained a total bond of $2 million for McDonald, with each charge warranting $1 million. This decision was confirmed by FOX 26.
