EXCLUSIVE: Joe Abraham, who lost his daughter to a tragic incident involving an illegal alien, is now taking an active role with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). He accepted the position of Executive Director at the Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement (VOICE) office. This office supports victims of crimes committed by illegal aliens.
Abraham’s daughter, Katie Abraham, and her friend, Chloe Polzin, died in a January 2025 crash caused by Julio Cucul-Bol, a Guatemalan national. After the crash, Cucul-Bol faced multiple charges and pleaded guilty to aggravated driving under the influence and leaving the scene of a fatal crash. He received a 30-year prison sentence.
I am excited to accept the Executive Director role at VOICE because this is not simply a government position for me. It is deeply personal and rooted in a mission I have come to understand through unimaginable loss,” Joe Abraham said.
Since the incident, Abraham became a vocal advocate for border security and the deportation of illegal aliens. He inspired Operation Midway Blitz, a significant immigration enforcement action in the Chicago area run by federal agencies in late 2025. The operation led to more than 4,000 arrests and received significant protest from Democrats.
White House spokeswoman Lauren Bis praised Abraham as he assumes his new role. She highlighted his advocacy and criticism of sanctuary policies, particularly in Illinois, where his daughter was killed.
Angel Dad Joe Abraham is the perfect choice to lead the VOICE office. Since the murder of his daughter, he has been a staunch advocate for victims of illegal alien crime and a powerful critic of the Democrats’ sanctuary policies.
In his new position, Abraham hopes to ensure that victims and their families are heard and treated with dignity. The VOICE office, revived by the Trump administration in 2025, has helped numerous families affected by illegal alien crime. It received 897 calls and assisted 588 victims in their pursuit of assistance and information.
The most reported crimes to VOICE include assault (35%), rape and sexual assault (17%), and homicide and manslaughter (10%). The state of Illinois, under Democratic Governor JB Pritzker, has been resistant to cooperating with federal immigration authorities, leading to tension with the Trump administration.
In recent incidents, the refusal to cooperate resulted in the early release of an illegal immigrant convicted of child sexual abuse. This action drew criticism from Bis, who accused Governor Pritzker of failing to protect Illinois citizens.
