Man Wanted in Connection with Deadly New York City Shootings
Police have identified a suspect in two fatal shootings in New York City within days of each other. Jesus Acosta, 31, is accused of a shooting during a robbery at a Bronx deli and is wanted in connection with another deadly incident in Brooklyn.
Details of the Incidents
The most recent shooting occurred at 12:16 a.m. on Tuesday at 149 Grill & Deli, located at 143 East 149th Street in the Bronx. A gunman approached a 33-year-old man and shot him multiple times in the chest. The suspect stole an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene.
The victim was taken to Lincoln Hospital. Initially stable, he later died from his injuries, leading police to classify the case as a homicide.
Acosta is also linked to a shooting early Sunday morning at 842 Rockaway Ave. in Brooklyn, at a location identified as American Best Wings & Pizza. This incident resulted in the death of a 44-year-old man and left another man, aged 39, with a leg injury. Both were transported to One Brooklyn Health-Brookdale Hospital Medical Center. The 44-year-old was pronounced dead, but the 39-year-old remains in stable condition.
Investigations and Public Appeal
The NYPD released a surveillance image of a person sought in connection with the Bronx robbery. Acosta is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing approximately 175 pounds, with short brown hair, brown eyes, a “Bronx” tattoo on his hand, and “Bobby” tattooed on his left forearm.
Authorities are seeking public assistance in locating Jesus Acosta. They encourage anyone with information to come forward.
