The ongoing saga of Good Good golf, marked by its controversial advertisement, continues to unfold. Recent developments have seen significant changes at the brand’s leadership level. The president of Good Good, Joe Flannery, decided to step down shortly after the advertisement was published. Also exiting the company is CEO and co-founder Matt Kendrick, who openly criticized Callaway after they severed ties following the ad debacle.
According to Business Insider, Alex Puchala, Good Good’s leader in operations and finance, conveyed these changes in a memo to the company. In the memo, it was also announced that co-founder Nahid Giga will serve as interim CEO. Garrett Clark, involved in the company’s advertisement, was photographed at the 2025 Tour Championship Creator Classic, held at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta on August 20, 2025.
Good Good Golf doesn’t deserve to be canceled for their ad made with Callaway.
The YouTube channel and golf apparel brand Good Good, widely recognized for its popularity, teamed up with Callaway in late August. Their collaboration produced a new golf driver, accompanied by an advertisement that sparked controversy. The ad featured Garrett Clark, a co-founder, pushing a female colleague to the ground.
The backlash led to the ad’s removal, alongside multiple apologies from both Good Good and Callaway. The ramifications were severe. Callaway terminated its partnership with Good Good, and they parted ways with the PGA Tour ahead of a planned November event. Additionally, several retailers withdrew Good Good apparel from their shelves.
Callaway’s CEO, Chip Brewer, stated that their content review process was inadequate. The company has implemented corrective measures and strengthened their approval protocols to prevent similar issues. In a statement, Callaway admitted responsibility for approving the advertisement before its release. This decision, coupled with the termination of their partnership, prompted public criticism from Kendrick.
Interesting that @CallawayGolf asks us to make an ad then approves it then asks us to take the fall then drops us,” Kendrick expressed on X, accusing Callaway of coordinating media actions against them.
Despite the drama, Good Good continues to share new content on YouTube, where it boasts over 2 million subscribers.
