A recent Instagram incident involving Atlanta Falcons quarterback Tua Tagovailoa caught attention after a screenshot appeared to show him commenting on his own post.
The Instagram post displayed a series of photos of Tagovailoa playing for the Falcons during the preseason. The caption read, “For the A.”
A comment saying, “We’re so proud of you!! You got this,” was made from @tuaman, Tagovailoa’s own Instagram handle. This comment was later removed, but sites like Barstool Sports captured the moment, resulting in social media teasing Tagovailoa for possibly forgetting to use a burner account for his remark.
Clarification soon came when Tagovailoa’s wife commented, taking responsibility for the comment. She explained that she was managing their children and forgot to log out of her husband’s account. She stated, “No burner account! I was busy with the kids this morning and forgot to switch back to my account… He’s busy at work as he’s said he doesn’t have social media and I post on his behalf! Will pay more attention next time.”
According to People magazine, Tagovailoa married Annah Gore in a private ceremony in July 2022. They share a son named Ace and a daughter named Maisey, and they recently announced expecting a third child.
In his career, Tagovailoa hopes for success with his new team. The Falcons have yet to decide between him and Michael Penix Jr. for the starting quarterback position in Week 1. Tagovailoa has showcased his skills during the preseason and training camp.
He recently played against his former team, the Miami Dolphins, and contributed to a 17-12 preseason victory. Completing 7 of 8 passes, he gained 95 yards. As Atlanta prepares to face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, Sept. 13, the decision on who will start as quarterback remains highly anticipated. Coach Kevin Stefanski, along with football president Matt Ryan, team owner Arthur Blank, and Falcons general manager Ian Cunningham, will decide.
