Two men lost their lives within a span of roughly 24 hours during the Burning Man festival as tens of thousands gathered in the Nevada desert. Among those who died was Craigh Mann, a 60-year-old, found by his campmates on Saturday afternoon. Another participant, in his mid-50s, passed away following a medical emergency the day prior.
Details of the Incidents
Mann was discovered in his camp at Black Rock City around 3 p.m. on September 5, according to the Burning Man Project. Organizers expressed deep sadness over the incident, offering condolences to Mann’s family, friends, and campmates.
On Friday evening, the organizers reported the first death. The man, in his mid-50s, experienced a medical emergency and received treatment at the festival’s emergency care center. He was pronounced dead at the center, though specifics about the medical situation were not disclosed. His name remains withheld as his family is yet to be informed.
