Cinde Warmington Wins Democratic Nomination for New Hampshire Governor
Cinde Warmington secured the Democratic nomination for governor in New Hampshire after running unopposed in the primary. This marks her second pursuit for the office. Her campaign faces criticism over her previous legal work for Purdue Pharma, the company known for OxyContin.
The Republican Governors Association criticized her association with Purdue, labeling it disqualifying. Warmington countered by saying her involvement was limited, emphasizing her personal family struggles with addiction.
She previously served on the New Hampshire Executive Council. Her first gubernatorial campaign in 2024 resulted in a loss to Joyce Craig, who was later defeated by the current Republican Governor Kelly Ayotte.
In her 2026 campaign, Warmington focuses on issues like affordability and challenges rising costs in New Hampshire. Her platform includes resisting immigration measures, regulating data center construction, controlling housing market manipulation, and promising no sales or income tax.
Warmington criticizes Ayotte for contributing to higher living costs and vows to improve conditions if elected. She faces Ayotte in the general election on November 3.
