Long Dark House: A New Destination for Genre Fans in Alexandria

Long Dark House, a new bookstore located in Old Town Alexandria, began welcoming visitors earlier this month. This establishment is the brainchild of Chanthal Harris, a passionate admirer of genre fiction.

Harris’s appreciation for science fiction and horror started during childhood when she watched “The Twilight Zone” and “Star Trek” with her father. Over time, her passion for these genres only grew. She later delved into literature such as the Bobiverse series and Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein.” This enduring interest inspired her to open a bookstore that focuses exclusively on horror and science fiction.

The store is designed as a haven for fans of these genres, offering a variety of books that cater to different tastes within the realms of both sci-fi and horror.
