La Catalina made a notable entry into AAA in April to the delight of Mexican fans. Quickly, she positioned herself in the Reina de Reinas Championship race. At Triplemania 34, she achieved victory in a gauntlet match, earning a title shot. On a momentous Sunday, she defeated Flammer, thus ending Flammer’s prolonged title reign.
The match took place during Triplemania 34: Night 2 at Arena Ciudad de Mexico in Mexico City on September 13, 2026. La Catalina and Flammer faced off in an intense match. Late in the contest, La Catalina attempted a diving splash but Flammer countered by raising her knees. Flammer initially avoided the pinfall and briefly gained momentum by dropkicking La Catalina out of the ring.
However, Flammer became distracted when glancing up the ramp, visibly searching for her tag team partner, La Hiedra, who was absent. This distraction proved costly. La Catalina seized the opportunity to toss Flammer from the top rope, delivering a hip attack followed by a running knee to clinch the victory.
With this win, La Catalina concluded Flammer’s impressive title reign, which lasted 1,128 days. Flammer was celebrated as the longest-reigning Reina de Reinas champion, with this reign standing as one of the longest in pro wrestling history. Yet, in Mexico City, her dominance came to an end in one of AAA’s premier events.
The new champion, La Catalina, will soon face her next challenge. Roxanne Perez earned the No. 1 contender position for the title on Night 1 of Triplemania 34. Perez overcame opponents Nattie, La Hiedra, and Faby Apache, securing her victory by pinning La Hiedra. La Hiedra appeared to expect support from Flammer, leading to a noticeable disconnect during the pivotal match.
La Catalina and Perez are slated to contend for the title at Worlds Collide later this month. This event promises another exciting chapter in the world of Lucha Libre.
