City Sues Property Owners Over Issues at 1828 Q Street SE
The city has taken legal action against the property owners of 1828 Q Street SE in the Fairlawn neighborhood of Southeast Washington. This move comes after repeated alarms raised by Tom Donohue, an advisory neighborhood commissioner. Concerns include unauthorized individuals entering the building, attempts to ignite fires, drug transactions in the hallways, and break-ins into unoccupied units.
Tom Donohue, who has frequented the building numerous times in recent months, highlighted these issues. Residents expressed fears regarding their safety due to these ongoing activities. Doubts have been raised about the property owners’ commitment to ensuring the security and well-being of residents.
The legal suit aims to compel property owners to address and resolve these persistent problems, ensuring the safety of both the building and those living there.
