Monet Mazur’s home in Hollywood Hills was recently targeted by intruders, confirmed by Fox News Digital. Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to a ‘hot prowl burglary’ call around 11:30 p.m. The suspects were reportedly still present at the scene when the call was made. Authorities noted that at least one person was inside the residence as the intruders tried to enter. However, the suspects fled before police arrived.
The incident involved the ‘All-American’ actress, who, according to reports, noticed three individuals on her security cameras. They were dressed in black and wore ski masks. The Post reported that Mazur, 50, confronted the suspects before they could enter, prompting them to leave. Images from the scene suggested that pepper spray was visible on the doormat outside her two-bedroom, $1.5 million property.
Contrary to some reports, TMZ stated that an alarm was triggered by the suspects attempting to open the front door, leading them to quickly escape. No confrontation occurred, and nothing was stolen. Police conducted a thorough search but did not find any suspects. Currently, there is no available description of the perpetrators. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, and officials filed a burglary report. Mazur’s team did not immediately respond for comment.
In a similar case, Olympian Simone Biles shared on TikTok about a robbery at her Chicago home earlier this year. The suspects stole her Porsche GTS, which authorities later recovered. Following the robbery, Biles and her husband Jonathan Owens upgraded their home security by acquiring a Doberman Pinscher.
Stephen Scott, an Army veteran and founder of Scott’s K9, explained to Fox News Digital the benefits of trained protection dogs in home security. According to Scott, these dogs offer significant protection by alerting homeowners well before intruders enter. ‘They’re going to buy you a lot of time,’ Scott emphasized. He highlighted how a protection dog can give the homeowner extra time to react by barking at intruders, allowing them to secure their family or call for help.
Scott also touched on vulnerabilities shared by homeowners online. People often post about their schedules, unknowingly providing information that could be used by intruders. He advised against exposing such details online to avoid becoming a target.
