“The View” co-host Ana Navarro expressed a firm stance against meeting President Donald Trump. During a segment on the ABC talk show, the panel discussed Trump’s recent dinner with figures like comedian Bill Maher, sports commentator Stephen A. Smith, and musician Kid Rock at the White House. When the discussion turned to whether they would accept a similar invitation, Navarro was unequivocal in her response.
Navarro emphatically stated, “There is no way I would want to break bread or be in the same room with a man whose administration is hunting Latinos.” She emphasized her disapproval of Trump’s policies, claiming they held no personal benefit in a meeting with him.
While her co-hosts Sara Haines and Alyssa Farah Griffin, both with previous ties to Trump’s administration, said they would accept an invitation, Navarro remained steadfast. She cited polls showing diminished Latino support for Trump as evidence of his administration’s cruelty, highlighting issues such as racial profiling and detrimental policies.
Co-host Sunny Hostin agreed, labeling Trump “the criminal-in-chief” and condemning his policies towards various communities. Whoopi Goldberg echoed this sentiment, refusing to engage with someone who had racially profiled people for years.
Despite differing opinions, fellow co-host Joy Behar expressed a desire for Trump to appear on “The View,” eager to challenge him directly. Recent interviews featured Vice President JD Vance discussing issues like immigration, contrasting with Trump’s absent presence.
Following the dinner, Kid Rock shared details in an interview with “Fox & Friends,” praising the opportunity for differing political opinions to converse amiably. Despite the strong positions of some co-hosts, the dinner exemplified how individuals with varying beliefs could engage in meaningful dialogue.
