YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul faced former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua last December. Despite being a significant underdog, he lasted until the sixth round. However, the fight resulted in a broken jaw, which has put his boxing career in jeopardy.
Reports from Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions, suggest a potential return to the ring this year. “He saw his specialists last Wednesday,” Bidarian told Fox News Digital. “They gave him a progress report. The plan is for him to be back sparring in two months. That’s the critical point to see how his jaw reacts.” Bidarian mentions that the goal is for Paul to return by 2026, but it depends on his recovery.
Paul has expressed that not boxing again could be possible. “It depends on how the bone heals,” he said. “There’s also a tooth missing that will probably require an implant. That could delay things. We need to decide on the smartest move for me.” However, Bidarian states that Paul holds no regrets about the challenge. “People ask if I regret it. I can’t. I facilitate; I don’t decide,” he mentioned. “Paul doesn’t regret facing such a formidable opponent. He tested himself against one of the top heavyweights and performed well.”
Paul, with a record of 12-2, including a win over Mike Tyson in November 2024, remains determined. His career decisions will depend on his health and recovery.
