President Donald Trump announced a major rally in Washington, D.C., to celebrate the United States’ 250th anniversary. The event will occur on Wednesday, June 24th, at 7 P.M. Trump outlined this in a Truth Social post, promising that the rally would be a significant occasion featuring guest speakers and musical performances.
Trump emphasized that the rally, called the DC Freedom 250 event, would include well-chosen musical acts and speakers. “We don’t want singers with no talent, but big fees to put you to sleep,” Trump stated. He assured attendees of top-quality music and speeches.
This announcement aligns closely with Trump’s decision to replace a planned Freedom 250 concert with the rally. The change follows the withdrawal of several performers from the scheduled event. Freedom 250, a nonprofit organization working with Task Force 250, organizes the anticipated fair featuring various activities, planned from June 25 to July 10 on the National Mall, as part of the broader America 250 celebrations.
Several artists, including Martina McBride and Bret Michaels, initially planned to perform but later withdrew. However, Vanilla Ice confirmed his participation and expressed firm commitment despite facing criticisms. The renowned singer declared, “Once you commit, you don’t quit.”
Furthermore, Trump also confirmed that country singer Lee Greenwood would introduce him at the rally and deliver his hit song, “God Bless the U.S.A.” Trump disclosed plans for performances by opera singer Christopher Macchio, known for renditions of “Nessun Dorma,” “Hallelujah,” “Ave Maria,” and “God Bless America.”
Military ensembles, including the U.S. Army Band ‘Pershing’s Own’, Armed Forces Choir, and ‘The President’s Own’ United States Marine Band, are set to perform. The lineup promises an impressive array of patriotic music and speeches.
