A brush fire erupted on Monday afternoon in the Santa Clarita Valley, posing a threat to homes and initiating evacuation orders, as reported by the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
This wildfire, named the Max Fire, is one among several currently burning in Southern California. It has already affected over 40 acres in the Pico Canyon Park area, which lies between residential areas in the foothills community of Stevenson Ranch.
The authorities have issued evacuation orders for homes located near Sagrecrest Circle and Chicory Court due to the advancing flames.
The fire started around 4:20 p.m. in the hiking area of Pico Canyon Park, close to Magnolia Lane. Aerial footage displays large flames approaching a cul-de-sac of homes, while helicopters assist by making water drops. Ground crews are actively working to establish a containment line.
This incident is still unfolding, and further updates may be necessary as developments occur.
