Senator Lindsey Graham and UFC CEO Dana White Condemn Fighter’s Comments About Michelle Obama
Senator Lindsey Graham and UFC CEO Dana White have criticized UFC heavyweight Josh Hokit for comments he made about Michelle Obama following his victory at the UFC Freedom 250 event at the White House.
Hokit faced backlash after he repeated false claims about the former First Lady during his post-fight interview. After triumphing over Derrick Lewis, Hokit expressed gratitude to President Donald Trump for hosting the event. He then concluded the interview with UFC commentator Joe Rogan by asking: Michelle Obama is a man, am I right, America?
The claim made by Hokit has been spreading for years as part of an unfounded conspiracy theory targeting the former First Lady.
Senator Graham shared his thoughts with TMZ on Monday, labeling Hokit’s comments as not good
and referring to him as an idiot.
He stated: It took away from the event.
He emphasized the fun nature of the occasion, aimed at celebrating America’s founding and the spirit of sports. That was not the spirit of sports,
Graham added.
Graham expressed his reaction upon hearing the remarks, simply calling Hokit an idiot.
UFC CEO Dana White also spoke against Hokit’s comments in a text message to Time magazine. He stated, I understand that the Obamas are public figures but I’m completely against saying nasty and false things about people’s families.
White expressed his stance on free speech while denouncing the behavior, describing it as that kind of nonsense.
This is a developing story, and more information will be provided as it unfolds.
