Workers Address Algae Issues Post-Renovation at Lincoln Memorial’s Reflecting Pool
On Thursday, a paint sheet in “American Flag Blue” could be seen floating as maintenance efforts continued on the Reflecting Pool at the Lincoln Memorial. This followed President Donald Trump’s renovation, which cost over $14 million.
For several days, workers have been actively removing algae from the pool. This maintenance comes after the recent renovation, which Trump declared last week was executed “properly” and with longevity in mind, suggesting it “could last for 100 years.”
The situation highlights the ongoing challenges of maintaining national monuments even after large-scale investments.
