President Trump introduced the new Air Force One, a Boeing 747 in red, white, and blue, donated by Qatar. This aircraft replaces the two aging blue planes that served as presidential planes since 1990. The modernization addresses maintenance issues that plagued the old models.
During the announcement at Joint Base Andrews, Trump described the jet as “a flying White House at a level of luxury that nobody’s ever seen before.” He noted that a new hangar was necessary for its larger size. The plane, emblazoned with “United States of America,” symbolizes a shift from the traditional baby blue design.
Trump highlighted that the new design was inspired by noticing other countries with visually superior aircraft compared to Air Force One. This change reflects his ongoing efforts to reshape presidential symbols and landmarks in alignment with his vision.
He announced plans for the new Air Force One to perform a flyover of Washington, accompanied by F-22 and F-35 military jets on July 4.
