New Evidence Released in Collin County Murder Trial

New evidence from the murder trial of Karmelo Anthony in Collin County, Texas, provides further insights into the case involving the fatal stabbing of Austin Metcalf last April at a track meet near Dallas.

The court has released materials including photographs of the knife introduced as evidence, images of Anthony’s backpack, and surveillance footage from inside Memorial High School’s team tent just before the incident. There is also video showing Anthony’s movements before and after the stabbing. This is the first time the public can view these photos and videos, as courtroom cameras were banned during the trial.

These releases follow a jury’s decision to convict Anthony of murder, resulting in a 35-year prison sentence. The jury rejected Anthony’s claim of self-defense in the confrontation.
