Rod Stewart, aged 81, encountered a health scare during a recent performance in West Valley City, Utah. Performing at the Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre, Stewart slowed down noticeably, raising concerns about his well-being. A video from TMZ shows him leaning on equipment while trying to continue with the show. He signaled a team backstage for assistance, which included oxygen and a cold compress. Speaking to the audience, Stewart admitted he ‘nearly fainted’, insisting the ‘show must go on’.

For weeks, Stewart has had to cancel several performances due to health issues. Recently, scheduled Las Vegas shows were canceled just hours before their start. His representative cited health advice from Stewart’s doctor as the reason. The shows, planned at Caesars Palace on May 29 and 30, were postponed with a promised return on June 2.

Stewart expressed his regret to fans, explaining he is on vocal rest because of a sinus infection. He assured fans he anticipates future performances at Caesars Palace and other tour stops this summer.

In addition to the Las Vegas cancellations, shows in California also faced similar fates. Stewart shared updates on Instagram, apologizing for the inconvenience caused by the cancellations. Despite treatment, his voice remained unready for a performance.

Following the cancellations, Stewart was seen traveling to Boston with his sons to attend a World Cup soccer match. This drew some fan backlash when shared on social media, given the recent show cancellations. Despite the criticisms, Stewart remains committed to his music career.

In 2024, Stewart plans to conclude large-scale world tours, but stresses he will not retire from performing entirely. He expressed his ongoing passion for music, boasting his fitness and readiness to perform.
