A 40-year-old man was taken into custody following a stabbing incident involving a woman during an argument in Chicago’s Englewood area, according to police reports. The incident occurred shortly before 2 a.m. inside a residence located in the 7200 block of South Hoyne Avenue. The conflict between the suspect and a 45-year-old woman escalated into a physical altercation. The man reportedly used a sharp object to stab the woman in both her neck and abdomen.
Following the attack, the man fled from the scene. However, police quickly apprehended him nearby. The victim received medical attention at UChicago Medicine, where her condition was reported as stable.
Detectives are actively investigating the case, and charges against the suspect are currently pending.
