Juan Soto and Francisco Lindor are two key figures in the New York Mets lineup. Both joined the team with high expectations, but recent reports indicate tension between them, capturing the public’s attention.
Lindor, acquired by trade in 2021, solidified his place with a 10-year, $341 million contract, marking a turning point for the Mets under new owner Steve Cohen. Soto joined later, signing a 15-year, $765 million deal, adding excitement to the team.
Reports last year suggested the two stars did not get along well. Issues seemed to persist into the current season. Cohen addressed these reports, confirming there were initial tensions but stated the situation is improving. “I am told and believe strongly that these guys are getting along much better,” Cohen mentioned to the New York Post.

This reply came when asked about his relationship with Lindor last week. He clarified that there were “no issues” now. Lindor echoed these sentiments, emphasizing their growing relationship in their second year as teammates. “Time has been on our side. I have nothing but respect for him,” Lindor said.
While rumors circulated about separation in the clubhouse and minimal interactions on Opening Day, the players insisted their relationship is professional and evolving. “We talk every single day, whether it’s hitting or different topics,” Lindor commented on their communication. Both players recognize their shared goal: winning games.
Lindor and Soto have only played 15 games together this season due to injuries, but they are expected to remain teammates until 2032. The team and its fans hope for improved chemistry and success on the field, moving forward.
