Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a shooting incident in East Los Angeles where four individuals sustained gunshot wounds. The incident followed the Mexico-England World Cup match on Sunday night.
The shooting occurred around 9:35 p.m. at Whittier Boulevard and Leonard Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. An argument escalated when one person drew a gun and fired, injuring two men, one woman, and a minor.
The two men targeted in the shooting were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. The woman and the minor, who were not the intended targets, encountered deputies at a different location before being transported to the hospital, also with non-life threatening injuries.
No additional details about the shooter were available as of Monday morning.
