The popular coffee chain, Starbucks, recently promoted their cold-beverage cups as being “widely recyclable.” However, findings from a recent investigation challenge this claim. The advocacy group behind the investigation revealed that none of the cups they monitored made it to a recycling facility.
Starbucks expressed concerns about the investigation’s process. The company pointed out that the tracking devices used are constructed from non-recyclable materials. This aspect, they argue, could potentially influence the path and ultimate destination of the monitored cups.
