Trump Calls for Senate Action on Crypto Bill Honoring Lindsey Graham

President Trump urged the Senate to pass a cryptocurrency regulation bill to honor the late Senator Lindsey Graham, who died unexpectedly over the weekend. Graham, not part of the drafting committees, focused on foreign policy before his passing. A medical examiner reported his death resulted from an aortic dissection linked to cardiovascular disease. The senator was 71.

The proposed bill, known as the Clarity Act, is a priority for Trump and the GOP ahead of the midterm elections. It may soon be brought to a vote in the Senate as Congress prepares to leave for the August recess.

Trump wrote on Truth Social, “In honor of Senator Lindsey Graham, a big supporter, the U.S. Senate should pass the Clarity Act. China and other countries aim to control major financial developments like cryptocurrency and AI. We must not let China lead these areas!”

Current Economic Concerns

The Labor Department plans to release the June consumer price index report, and Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh will testify before the House Financial Services Committee.
